Legumes are small, but powerful sources of nutrition. After the grains, like wheat and rice (from the grass family of plants), legumes are the second most important family of plants in human diets. Their special contribution to human nutrition is Bank Routing Number Citizens Union Savings Bank protein, which they are able to make thanks to a clever bacteria known as rhizobium. These bacteria get into the roots of the plant and change the nitrogen in the air into a form that the plants can use to make amino acids, the basic building blocks of protein. The protein content in legumes is 2-3 times as great as the protein content in the grasses.
Having a reliable source of protein has been critical to the development of human civilizations. Animal protein is often hard to obtain and can be expensive, and protein from grasses is too limited to survive on over the long-term, so legumes have filled that human need for protein in many cultures throughout the world, especially in Asia, Central and South America, and the Mediterranean. They may be small and humble looking, but beans are held in high standing in many societies. For example, some cultures, like those near New Orleans, Malta, Nicaragua, and Italy, believe eating beans on New Year’s Day will bring you good luck, and the Romans named powerful families after the names of legumes in the Mediterranean: Fabius was named after the fava bean, Lentulus after the lentil, Piso after the pea, and Cicero comes from the word for chickpea.
Legumes provide people not only with protein, but also with B vitamins, iron, some starch (complex carbohydrate), and, in the case of soybeans and peanuts, rich, healthy oils. Their seed coats are indigestible, which means that they are a good source of fiber, and colorful, which means they are full of antioxidants, which help prevent diseases.
Legumes are also high in defensive compounds, which are substances that the plant makes to protect itself. If dried beans are fed to people or cattle raw, or not fully cooked, the beans can make them sick. Cooking removes or disables these defensive compounds, and makes them safe to eat.

Can you legally fly a single engine plane for money, or does it have to be multi engine for paying passengers?

Question by Andrew B: Fear of take off, help please
?
Well, basically i have a strange fear of velocity… HOWEVER, it doesn’t affect me when Im driving, I love to go fast when I’m driving =]
However, I’m very nervous about the take off, I’m not bothered about the flight itself or crashes, I love planes! However next tue will be the first time I’ll get on one… so I need some help =]
I ‘ve been seeking a phsycologist and I’m on some light medicine, Faverin. This will help me i hope
Second, can i stick some headphones and music during take off or it isn’t allowed?
Third…. Any other way of not thinking about the take off???
cheers
I’ll be going on Ryan air from Malta LMML to Scotland EDI.
Best answer:
Answer by truth
do some research on how take off works and how it gets you off the ground. fear is often based on what you don’t understand. some people even take it so far as to actually learn how to fly because they need to feel in control of the situation.
meds always help too! have a great trip.

No. These radical Islamist terrorists have vowed to destroy us, and the list will grow much longer if we take the easy way out of Iraq. They’re just waiting for us to cut and run.

Is something in the air?
Question by bb2002: Is something in the air?
this morning in Diario de Noticias:
http://dn.sapo.pt/2007/07/08/s…..acion.html
PJ abandons all international clues of Maddie
Sixty-six days after Madeleine McCann mysteriously disappeared from the room where she was sleeping with her twin siblings, in an apartment at the Ocean Club resort, in Praia da Luz, Policia Judiciaria (PJ) abandoned all the clues that they had in various countries, which pointed to the possibility that the british child had passed through or was staying there. The investigations are more and more concentrated in the area where Maddie was kidnapped.
“None of the many sightings that were registered in Malta, and which were exhaustively investigated by local authorities, was confirmed, so we discarded that lead”, chief inspector Olegario de Sousa told DN yesterday.
And the indication that came from Morocco “was put aside, given the bad quality of the images from the petrol station in Marrakesh”, where a norwegian tourist guarantees she saw the child with a man.
“Moroccan authorities did not even send us the requested images, given the fact that they were taped one over another, which made the idetification of the people who circulated there, totally impossible”, he observed, admitting that the inspectors’ work is more and more centralized in Praia da Luz. One of the persons who are responsible for the investigation had already referred that “the key to the mystery lies in Praia da Luz”. Madeleine’s parents also don’t exclude “the possibility that she is here”.
‘The investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine MacCann is about to have some new developments in the next days as the Portuguese police is preparing a big operation in a foreign country. The PJ refuses to talk anymore about the subject.’
This is the link:

I wonder if, although it says the case is centered around Luz, then it says a “big operation” in another country, that other country is UK?
Could be the rest of the rat pact?

the mcanns local paper is the leicester mercury…to some people in leicester its reffered to as the mcanns daily. hardly a day goes by without gerry making a apearance commenting on other etc etc….the leicester mecury supplied the initial 20000 madeline bands and about 20k went into the fund…after most news items you can comment online…but the leicester mecury is now involved in censorship….not posts that contain swear words…i mean posts like mine or others that question what the mcanns are doing…i asked simply why the madeline fund was now at the million pound stage yet a concert at donnington was being organised to raise another 35k. i also asked how the account was being managed and what the money was being spent on…this was on a week day and the posts apeared and were removed within 30 minutes…i then posted and asked why i was being censored this resulted in my pc being blocked…other on there have complained there posts are rem
other on there have complained there posts are removed as well.
what is the reason for this censor ship….i asked simple questions that would not affect the mcanns and asked about there 1 million pound fund and why the mcanns were still actively collecting more money by having a pay pal link and fund raising link on there site….any views
MADDY, I know what you mean…Ive had 2 violations again today, that takes me to 11 this week…
im guessing that, IF the McCanns are arrested, they wouldnt be able to use the money for a Defence team? Because its “proffiting from a crime”…unless they have to be found guilty before that law can be applied? In which case then yes, I guess they will use that money…
